Prayer Requests

Well, it has been over 2 months since I submitted my visa application at the Indian Consulate in San Fran. They weren't to encouraging about the likelihood of one being granted to me. Please pray that I would be granted a visa. I would love a 3 year visa but I can work with whatever God gives me.

My last day of work is September 30th. Please be praying for a replacement. I want to leave my students especially the current applicants well cared for. God has blessed me these past few years with a job I love, the best co-workers, and students that are a blessing to me. It is going to be bittersweet to leave. Pray that God grants me strength and composure when the time comes to leave.

For those of you who haven't visited harvest-india.org check it out. I get so excited every time I look at pictures of India. I can't wait to get back there!

Moving Right Along

Well, things are moving right along. I am going to visit the Indian Consulate the first week of May. Also, I will be giving my notice to my employer in the next week or so. I love my job and really want to leave on good terms so I am giving them 6-8 weeks notice. Please be praying that this goes smoothly and that the appropriate visa will be given to me.

Exciting things have been happening…. Well, as most of you know, I have a heart for the women and children of India that are enslaved into prostitution. I have been speaking to Suresh of Harvest India for more than 1 ½ years about how I envision my service to the LORD and to India. The LORD had given me a detailed plan encompassing learning how to import internationally, business law, and establishing non-profit status/ tax stuff but I just could not bring myself to do all of these tasks and I couldn’t understand why. But several months ago I, felt God saying “just go” and so, I decided to go to India and allow Jesus to provide for me my necessities.

How awesome, how holy is He!

He has brought my plan into reality. Now after being obedient and saying, “Here I am, send me” the LORD has set up so many people to support the ministry being done in the name of Jesus through Harvest India. A friend from Newport Mesa has started a program called, “Indian Princess Project” to raise funds to support the restoration of women freed from sexual slavery in India. This project has women volunteering to interpret international business law, learn how to import from India, establish non-profit status/ tax stuff and a ton of other things. Praise God for His guidance and orchestration over my life and this huge endeavor.

I have had so many things happen that really prove to me that this is what I should be doing. Most of you remember my first letter. I remember so clearly, I was seeking something. I heard Jesus whisper to me and I needed to know more. Since the moment that the LORD used a fashion magazine to open my eyes to the depravities women and children are enduring, He has been faithful to lead me every step of the way, reassuring me, and opening doors I could never open. Now as I approach my departure I am confident that this is the LORD’s will.

I am so humbled that Jesus is going to use me. He is going to allow me to reach out to these women and children as His arms to embrace them and love them and to use my voice to express his love, forgiveness, and salvation.
