God Never Makes His Servants Wait in Vain!

As I am getting ready to depart I am thankful for these past several months that Christ has given me to prepare. Had I left, as originally planned, I would have missed so many special moments like my brother's and Erin's graduation, Suresh and Christina's arrival, and my 30th birthday spent with my family and friends.

I can finally say that I have a glimpse into God's wisdom. I am so grateful that God is in control!

India comes to me!

Suresh and Christina arrived today. How wonderful it is to have them here in the States. I feel a stirring inside; my inner voice saying, "it's almost time to go!" Every detail has finally come together and in exactly one month I will be leaving for India (for real this time)!

Also, on a completely different note... I saw Mandesa (American Idol) at LAX while waiting for Suresh and Christina's plane. I was so excited to see her b/c I had been wanting to tell her how much I respect her and today I got the chance. I told her what an awesome stand she made for Christ when she sang "Shackles" on AI. She hugged me and thanked me and I, in oh so cool fashion, fumbled over my words and then tripped over her luggage ( just kidding on that last part but that would have been funny, huh!).

I am so grateful to be surrounded by my family and friends for my birthday. What a blessing that God gave me the opportunity to be in the US right now.

Also, as an added bonus, I have a departure date!!! Yeppie!!!

I am leaving for real June 16th. I will be posting more regularly as I prepare for my departure.

Talk to you soon....

Here is the visa I waited 9 months for...Isn't it beautiful!

Will Things Ever Just Fall Into Place?

Well, things have been a little crazy since my visa arrived. I wish I could say that I had my departure date and that everything was going according to plan. But this just couldn't be further from the truth. Suresh has asked me to fly home to India with Christina (if she gets her visa) which I think would be fun and time efficient. However, this puts my departure at the first week of June. But whatever works best for Harvest India. It doesn't make sense for me to impose upon them when I am suppose to be a blessing.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I got the news at around 11am this morning… my visa is ready to be picked up!!!

I am soooo excited. It is 3pm and I am just now able to sit and put together a cogent sentence. Albeit not a very informative one; unfortunately I do not have any more details at this time. I could possible leave as early as Monday AM if there is an available flight. However, I am praying right now for wisdom as to when I should leave b/c if I were to leave now I would be missing out on several events that I had been looking forward to. I will be updating the blog every step of the way from here on out so as soon as I hear something new I will post it. Or just give me a call or an email for an update!

Love you all! Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. These few months have been an amazing time of spiritual growth and I feel stronger and really ready for this adventure!

Still Waiting!!

Unfortunately my visa did not arrive today so that means that I will have to postpone my trip by a week or so. I know that God's timing is perfect but I am still a little disappointed that I will not be going with the RockHarbor team that is leaving on Christmas night. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. I will let you know the moment the visa arrives!!!

San Francisco Days San Francisco Nights

On the spur of the moment I decided to go up to San Francisco to meet with the consulate. I have talked with them twice and will try one more time on Monday. Please pray that authorization will come from Delhi and the consulate can award me my visa on Monday.

In the meantime I am having a really nice time with my friend Erin and her roommates. They have welcomed me into their home and made me feel like one of the roommates. Even if the visa is not granted right now the trip was not a total loss because it has allowed me to spend quality time with my dear little Boo-Bear (aka Erin).

3 months and 3 days...still waiting

Thank you for all your prayers and concern about my visa but please do not stop praying yet! I have contacted the Consulate and they say when they hear something they will let me know and until then there is nothing they can do to help me. I’ve tried the Embassy but they are unreachable; I can’t even leave a voicemail because the in box is full. And Congressman Rohrabacher’s office says there is nothing they can do for me.

Despite all this, my anxious feelings have diminished greatly. Thanks to everyone for praying for my anxiety I really have felt a significant difference since the October Prayer Meeting. My support letters are going out on Monday so please be praying that the people being led to give financially give and that the people who are not able to give financially are not offended by the letter but see that I do truly value their prayers and emotional support of me and my family.

Thanks!

Good Bye CSULB...Hello India

Well, it is day two of being unemployed and it is a little weird. I have this huge pressure on me to use every minute of the day for my preparation for India. In case you are wondering (and I know you are), I am not sleeping in; I want to maintain a schedule to insure I get everything done off my “to do” list.

My last 2 days at work were really great. My co-workers threw me a little going away party and students kept coming in up till 4:30pm Friday afternoon to say goodbye. There were so many well wishes I really felt like my time at CSULB was valued. This job has been a blessing to me from the minute I became a Grad Assistant 2 ½ years ago until the moment I had to leave. Although it is hard to leave a job you love and staff and students that love you, it was great to know that I am not running away from my life. Instead my leaving CSULB got to be a sacrifice made intentionally for Christ.

For those of you that attended my first prayer meeting held back on September 8th….THANK YOU so much for the encouragement!!! You will be glad to know that I have started drafting my support letter. There are many other things in the works but I will save those updates for the next meeting on October 12th.

Please continue to pray for my visa. The 3 month mark is October 19th.

Prayer Requests

Well, it has been over 2 months since I submitted my visa application at the Indian Consulate in San Fran. They weren't to encouraging about the likelihood of one being granted to me. Please pray that I would be granted a visa. I would love a 3 year visa but I can work with whatever God gives me.

My last day of work is September 30th. Please be praying for a replacement. I want to leave my students especially the current applicants well cared for. God has blessed me these past few years with a job I love, the best co-workers, and students that are a blessing to me. It is going to be bittersweet to leave. Pray that God grants me strength and composure when the time comes to leave.

For those of you who haven't visited harvest-india.org check it out. I get so excited every time I look at pictures of India. I can't wait to get back there!

Moving Right Along

Well, things are moving right along. I am going to visit the Indian Consulate the first week of May. Also, I will be giving my notice to my employer in the next week or so. I love my job and really want to leave on good terms so I am giving them 6-8 weeks notice. Please be praying that this goes smoothly and that the appropriate visa will be given to me.

Exciting things have been happening…. Well, as most of you know, I have a heart for the women and children of India that are enslaved into prostitution. I have been speaking to Suresh of Harvest India for more than 1 ½ years about how I envision my service to the LORD and to India. The LORD had given me a detailed plan encompassing learning how to import internationally, business law, and establishing non-profit status/ tax stuff but I just could not bring myself to do all of these tasks and I couldn’t understand why. But several months ago I, felt God saying “just go” and so, I decided to go to India and allow Jesus to provide for me my necessities.

How awesome, how holy is He!

He has brought my plan into reality. Now after being obedient and saying, “Here I am, send me” the LORD has set up so many people to support the ministry being done in the name of Jesus through Harvest India. A friend from Newport Mesa has started a program called, “Indian Princess Project” to raise funds to support the restoration of women freed from sexual slavery in India. This project has women volunteering to interpret international business law, learn how to import from India, establish non-profit status/ tax stuff and a ton of other things. Praise God for His guidance and orchestration over my life and this huge endeavor.

I have had so many things happen that really prove to me that this is what I should be doing. Most of you remember my first letter. I remember so clearly, I was seeking something. I heard Jesus whisper to me and I needed to know more. Since the moment that the LORD used a fashion magazine to open my eyes to the depravities women and children are enduring, He has been faithful to lead me every step of the way, reassuring me, and opening doors I could never open. Now as I approach my departure I am confident that this is the LORD’s will.

I am so humbled that Jesus is going to use me. He is going to allow me to reach out to these women and children as His arms to embrace them and love them and to use my voice to express his love, forgiveness, and salvation.
